Bishop's Days 2020

In an abundance of caution, and in recognition of our responsibility to the greater community, at a diocesan staff meeting held on March 11, it was agreed to cancel Bishop Day’s South. We will be making the supporting documentation provided by the presenters available online, and looking at the possibility of holding some online sessions at a later date.

This event is essential for those who are new in their role as rector, vicar, priest in charge, or interim; all new and returning vestry and bishop’s committee members; church administrators, and anyone interested in church leadership.

It’s the second decade of the 21st Century. What’s changing, and what practical things can you do to keep pace with the changes? There’ll also be the usual sprinkling of hints and tips as we go along!


BD250 — Youth Ministry: Updates and How You Can Support It Session: 1 Only.

We will begin our time together with updates on the WEMO Youth Community. I will share what has been going on, the events that are coming up, and where the Youth Ministry Commission sees Youth Ministry in the Future. We will discuss how you and your church can support the church of the present, the teens, at a local and diocesan level.

Dr. King’s famed speech of protest includes not only the clarification of the evils of racism, but also a dream—a vision for the better. A vision, of course, of a world in which all of us sit together at the table of community, and lions lie down with lambs.

Participants will explore the shifting paradigm of racism, its manifestations, its impact upon the nation and the church and how to combat its influence.
