Participating in Education for Ministry is an investment in your spiritual life – gratifying, enjoyable, and challenging. As we study and share we also learn, grow and transform.

Every baptized person is called to ministry. The Education for Ministry (EfM) program provides people with the education to carry out that ministry. In an EfM seminar group we are offered an opportunity to discover how to respond to the call to Christian service. Through study, prayer and reflection we are moved toward a new understanding of our roles in God’s kingdom.

There are three seminars currently offered in West Missouri – two in the Kansas City area and one in Springfield. And, although this is a four-year commitment, it is your choice to complete the coursework in four-consecutive years.

Similar to any higher education course, EfM requires time, money and personal effort to fully participate. Depending on the length of time you need to read, mark and inwardly digest written information, EfM will require a minimum of two hours additional time outside of the weekly class. You can also find more information and learn about the financial commitment to EfM here.

Sign up to participate in an in-person Education for Ministry seminar this fall by contacting Kristin Niederberger or Susan Nielsen.

There are also plans to offer an online EfM seminar as a mentor becomes available. If you are interested in an online version of EfM, please contact Kim Snodgrass for more information.

Kim Snodgrass is Assistant to the Bishop for Christian Formation.
