Small Group Facilitator Training

When: Saturday, September 23, 9 a.m. – Noon
Where: Christ Episcopal Church
601 E. Walnut St., Springfield, MO 65806

Small groups make a big difference in people’s lives. Small group facilitators provide guidance and encourage participation.

Anytime 6-12 people gather within the church it often involves fellowship and service, but sometimes we gather intentionally to learn and grow together.

Imagine your congregation hosting a 4-6 week small group opportunity using one of these highly recommended free resources that are practically turn-key approaches. Imagine inviting people inside and outside the church walls!

But who will lead? The Spiritual Formation Commission would like to make you aware of two upcoming facilitator trainings opportunities designed to help people feel knowledgeable about and comfortable with leading small groups.

Facilitators do not need to possess great knowledge and be prepared with an answer to any question that arises. A facilitator’s purpose is simply to make an action or process easy or easier, such as group discussion.

The Spiritual Formation Commission is offering a Small Group Facilitator training that includes years of trainer observation and experience, tools, hands-on practice time, and an overview of readily available small group curriculum opportunities. Register for the next one!

  • Saturday, September 23 from 9 am – 12 pm at Christ Church, Springfield (light breakfast included)

Leave this experience feeling empowered and take this gift back to your congregation along with many engaging resources for small group opportunities. Reach out to formation@diowestmo.org for more information.

Kim Snodgrass is Assistant to the Bishop for Christian Formation.
