The Re-Dedication and Consecration of St. James, Springfield, and three baptisms

Gary Allman Two-minute read.   Resources

Over the past year the people of St. James Episcopal Church in Springfield, have been taking advantage of the COVID-19 lock-down to comprehensively remodel the sanctuary and renovate other areas of the church buildings. The work included a new baptismal font, stations of the cross, new seating providing an increased capacity, they relocated the choir and organ behind the new altar and Reredos, and installed new AV equipment and cameras to continue live streaming their services.

On the evening of Wednesday, May 12, 2021, Bishop Marty led the Re-Dedication of St. James, baptized two children and one infant, and celebrated the Holy Eucharist.

You can hear Bishop Marty’s sermon from this service here.

St. James have produced a brochure with some wonderful pictures and information about the renovations.
