Greetings again from Steve Bruce to our clergy spouse community. I’m looking forward to spending some time in Missouri in October.

The idea is to bring a family dish and recipe to share and to share a story about the recipe.

As part of my effort to spend time with you all, I’ve planned a second ‘pot luck’ for October 1 at St. Luke’s in Excelsior Springs from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. The idea is to bring a family dish and recipe to share, and also share a story about the recipe. I’ve attached my mother’s sour cream and raisin pie recipe, for example. (She only shared this recipe in her later years, and I can’t believe how ‘basic’ it is!)

Although my recipe is for a dessert, our potluck is a luncheon, so any family dish will be welcome.

I’m looking forward to connecting with as many of you that can make it. I’m aware that there is a clergy ordination that day, and that some of you will be attending that event.

There will be another potluck on December 17 with a Christmas theme in Springfield.
