On Monday, June 19, the Diversity and Reconciliation Commission of The Diocese of West Missouri invites anyone able to embark upon a pilgrimage to Park Central Square, Springfield, Missouri, the site of the April 1906 lynching of three African American men, Fred Coker, Horace Duncan, and William Allen.

9 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Bus from Kansas City to Springfield

The assist people in the Kansas City Metro area join this pilgrimage, a private bus will leave St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, 2732 Benton Blvd. Kansas City, MO at 9 a.m., returning around 6 p.m.

Places on the bus are limited, please register early

Please note anyone registered for the bus is automatically registered for lunch. You do not need to register for both.

Traveling by car

If you are planning on traveling by car, free parking is located to the north of Park Central Square. If you have a GPS, the following address will get you to the parking lots.

There will be a program of speaches and the reading of a litany written by The Rt. Rev. Deon Johnson, Bishop of Missouri.

Note: You do not need to register for lunch if you have registered to travel on the bus from Kansas City.
