Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ:
On September 27, 2023, the local chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians held a special election to fill vacant chapter positions. It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce the results of the recent elections for the positions of President, Vice President, and Secretary:
- President: CJ Duffie, St. Augustine’s
- Vice President: Keith N. Johnson, Jr., St. Andrew’s
- Secretary: Nancy Chivis-Franklin, St. Augustine’s
We would also like to thank Canon Shirly Bolden for her commitment to continue to serve as chapter treasurer. These candidates have demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities, unwavering dedication, and a profound commitment to the Union’s progress and success. We are confident that their tenure will usher in avenues of growth and empowerment for our chapter. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected officers and gratitude to all those who participated in the election process. This momentous occasion would not have been possible without your active engagement and support of the chapter.
A very special thanks to the outgoing chapter president, the Rev. Rita Kendagor for her hard work and dedication. She diligently worked to establish the UBE chapter in the Diocese of West Missouri. We are grateful for her service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Once again, congratulations to the newly elected President, Vice President, and Secretary. Together, we will achieve remarkable things and achieve our shared aspirations for the betterment of the Union and the Diocese of West Missouri.
