Organ Concert at Resurrection Blue Springs

All are welcome to a premiere organ concert to celebrate the blessing and dedication of the new Johannus Organ at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection on Sunday afternoon, August 18 at 5:00 p.m. at 1433 R.D. Mize Rd, Blue Springs, Mo 64015.

Performing artists include Dr. Paul Meier, Organist-Choir Master of Grace and Holy Cathedral-Kansas City, Canon John Schaefer, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church-Kansas City, Composer and Organist Dr. Jeff Wilcken, St. Mary’s Episcopal-Kansas City, Mrs. Deborah Lynch, organist Lord of Love Lutheran-Belton, Mr. Vaughn Scarcliff, Music Director, Resurrection-Blue Springs and Mr. Phil Clark Trumpet, Ret. Kansas City Symphony.

Dr. Jeff Wilcken has composed an organ piece that has been commissioned specifically for Resurrection-Blue Springs “ The Love Amazing: Fantasy on the Hymn Tune Thaxted”. He will premier this work as Resurrection celebrates the beginning of a new era in music that will add beauty to the liturgy and worship for the church and community.

Mr. Gerry Oehring, of Oehring and Associates, who also represents the Rodgers and Johanuus Organ Companies, and who installed this new instrument, will give an introductory presentation.

This will be a very festive evening of music followed by a reception. Please set your calendars to attend, and please bring a friend who would enjoy music from the organ with all its splendor.
