Planning for the 133rd Annual Convention of The Diocese of West Missouri began back in January. After lots of discussion and reflection, the Convention Planning Team has selected this year’s convention theme, and produced an outline schedule. Commenting on the work so far, Bishop Bruce said,

I am excited about our theme for this year, Recalling our roots to grow anew as I think it starts to point us all on a road to come together, understand that no matter where we are in the diocese, there is more we hold in common that what we may think separates us. Coming together as a diocese this November, we will celebrate the work we do, the friendships and bonds we have forged, and look to where the Spirit is leading us.”

This year’s convention will again be a combined online and in-person event held at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, Kansas City, and via online meeting software, with the proceedings being shown on social media.

Following the success of the electronic voting used at the 2020 convention and the speed with which the electronic votes were counted at last year’s convention — the result of the electronic ballot was available before counting even commenced of the paper ballot — this year’s voting will be electronic for all delegates.

Training on voting with the electronic system, online convention attendance, and convention orientation sessions are being planned.
