Young Adult Civil Rights Pilgrimage

Amanda Perschall One-minute read.   Resources

Closing date for expressing an interest extended until January 15

Are you a young adult between the ages of 25 & 40? Do you enjoy travel? Do you enjoy learning? Do you enjoy volunteer work? Are you looking to deepen your spiritual connections through prayer and worship? Are you looking to help build the community of young adults in the diocese?  Would you like to join an incredible adventure?

With the Diocesan Diversity and Reconciliation Commission, I am planning a Young Adult Civil Rights Pilgrimage, traveling through the South including Birmingham, Montgomery, Selma, Jackson, and Memphis.  We’ll spend time praying and worshiping together, learning about the Civil Rights era, and doing volunteer work.  We’ll visit sites including the Edmund Pettis Bridge, the National Civil Rights Museum, and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice.  Each day will bring us to a new city with another piece of the story.
