Annual Convention Update

Three-minute read. Annual Convention is less than a month away and we are constantly adding documents to the Annual Convention website. Nominations are now closed, and the slate of nominees will be published shortly. Here’s a brief summary of where we are.

Area Confirmations at St. Philip’s, Joplin Canceled

The Area Confirmation service due to take place on Saturday, August 17 at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Joplin has been canceled. All the candidates due to be confirmed, reaffirmed, or received have elected to travel to an alternate service, or are waiting for next year’s area confirmation services, hoping that physical distancing and attendance limitations will be relaxed by that time.

The Social Justice Ministry of St. Mary’s, Kansas City, demands policing change in Kansas City Missouri Police Department

Four-minute read. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department has failed to control violent crime in Kansas City, and it has has unconscionably discriminated against Black American citizens of the City. Fundamental change (not defunding) is required to eliminate systemic racism and failed policies. Some of the requirements for change are listed in the article.

Blessing of the Animals at St. Mark’s Kimberling City

Two-minute read. All tails were wagging and love was in the air on Sunday, October 4 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Kimberling City, as community members brought their beloved fur babies to be blessed at the annual Blessing of the Animals.

New home for St. Matthew’s, Ozark
