Sacred & Secular, a musical collective with a residency at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Excelsior Springs, has released “In Solitude,” its debut album. The record is a collection of piano instrumentals composed by Sacred & Secular founder and St. Luke’s member Shawn Roney. It is available to stream for free on various digital music platforms, including YouTube Music, and is available on Spotify.
The album also is available for sale on multiple websites, including mo-muttmusic.com. Shawn has pledged to donate 20% of the album’s profits to the St. Luke’s capital improvement fund; 10% to Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church, a historically Black church in Kansas City, in keeping with the Episcopal Church’s mission of pursuing racial reconciliation; and 10% to the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.
