The diocesan celebration of the Feast of Absalom Jones was held on Sunday, February 6, at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church, Kansas City. The service offering was for the Absalom Jones Fund of the Episcopal Church. This fund assists the historically black colleges and universities that are rooted in the Episcopal Church, St. Augustine’s University in Raliegh, North Carolina, and Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina. The collection raised $840. St. Augustine’s made an additional gift of $160 to make the overall gift to the Absalom Jones Fund $1,000.
