Introducing Zachary Phillips

Two-minute read. We are pleased to introduce Zachary Phillips, who joined the Diocesan Staff on April 18 in the three-quarter-time position as the Communications Assistant. Zachary will be responsible for assisting with website maintenance, email campaigns, social media, diocesan-wide events, and other events of interest to our members in West Missouri.

Diocesan Staff Update

One-minute read. Rachael Orth, the diocesan Events Coordinator will be leaving the diocesan staff at the end of November. Rachael, who joined the diocesan staff earlier in 2022 as the half-time Events Coordinator, is moving on to take up a full-time role.

Introducing Rachael Orth

Two-minute read. We are pleased to introduce Rachael Orth, who joined the Diocesan Staff on May 16 in the half-time position of Events Coordinator. Rachael will be responsible for the logistics (registration, venue bookings, contracts, and organizing refreshments and meals, etc.) for diocesan-wide events, and events of interest to a wider diocesan audience.

New direct telephone numbers for diocesan staff

Two-minute read. The diocesan staff have switched to a new digital telephone exchange and system. This has allowed us to provide both staff based in the Diocesan Center, and remote staff with direct numbers which will automatically connect to them wherever they are working.

Two-minute read. We have two staff changes taking place at the end of January. Josh Trader, Assistant to the Bishop for Youth Ministry Development, and the Rev. Dr. William (Bill) Fasel, Assistant to the Bishop for Leadership Development, will be leaving the bishop’s staff.

As far as we can determine, none of the data on the system has been tampered with. However, we can not rule out that some data may have been copied.

Bishop Provisional candidate for West Missouri announced by the Standing Committee

Two-minute read. The Standing Committee of The Diocese of West Missouri has announced their selection of a candidate for Bishop Provisional of West Missouri. The formal selection of the candidate will be the subject of the first resolution to be presented and voted upon at this year’s diocesan annual convention, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Unfortunately, a large number of churches are still to provide their slates of delegates, so we ask that you share this post with any delegates that we may not have been able to reach via email. Photo and video release resources for churches to use

Two-minute read. As many churches consider a return to in-person worship with livestreaming, it’s an appropriate time to plan for how you will tell people that you may video or photograph them. You will also need to let them know that you may use their images on social media, newsletters, and promotional materials.
