I’m here to tell the people of West Missouri what you are doing, and help you do the same within your local community.

Send me your news, details of your events, and bring me your questions. We can talk about your website, social media, livestreaming, promotions, marketing, and church administration tools too!

Area Confirmations at St. Peter & All Saints

Two-minute read. On Saturday, November 21, St. Peter & All Saints Episcopal Church, Kansas City hosted the second of this year’s area confirmation services.

It’s a wrap! 2020 Annual Convention Round-up

Two-minute read. It’s a wrap! The Diocese of West Missouri’s first (and hopefully only) online Annual Convention is now over. The 131st Annual Convention of The Diocese of West Missouri was held on Saturday, November 7.

Annual Convention Update

Three-minute read. Annual Convention is less than a month away and we are constantly adding documents to the Annual Convention website. Nominations are now closed, and the slate of nominees will be published shortly. Here’s a brief summary of where we are.

Area Confirmation Service at St. Andrew’s

Five-minute read. On Saturday, September 19, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Kansas City hosted the first diocesan Area Confirmation Service of 2020, and we have lots of pictures!

New Administrative Website

One-minute read. When the current diocesan website was first built over six years ago it had a couple of dozen pages or so. Now it has grown to over 270. With all that growth, the content has become more difficult to find and increasingly difficult to manage and update. This summer we have started work on moving all the administrative content to office.diowestmo.org.

Anti-racism covenant launched

Three-minute read.Over the past month, 14 bishops of The Episcopal Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, including our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Martin S. Field, have worked together to produce an anti-racism covenant.

Just how easy is it to give money to your church?

Four-minute read. Friction. It’s a marketing term used to describe all the little things we do (or don’t do) that make it harder for someone to buy a product, or in the case of our churches and ministries, make a donation. Let’s face it, if it’s too hard, it isn’t going to happen. So what are you going to do about it? Oh, and a minor rant (or two).

Shared history, shared future

Three-minute read. The Order of The Daughters of the King and Brotherhood of St. Andrew renew one-hundred-year-old partnership. As Presiding Bishop Michael Curry encourages Episcopalians to follow the Way of Love, two of the oldest organizations in the Episcopal church are working together to renew the spirit in The Episcopal Church, Anglican Communion, and beyond.

Online Prayers – Something for everyone in West Missouri

One-minute read. We are sharing our prayers and services online from our churches chapels, offices, studies, and living rooms. There’s morning, noonday and evening prayers, Sunday worship, daily and weekly reflections. There are lots of options to choose from.

The diocesan response to the COVID-19 pandemic

Two-minute read. To cope with the rapidly changing situation regarding the spread of COVID-19, we are actively monitoring the situation and consulting widely with experts and those impacted. In response, temporary changes are being made to how services are conducted, we’ve canceled or postponed all diocesan events through to the end of April, and we are working to move all scheduled meetings to online attendance.
